A new year is upon us. How will your life be different in 2005? What
specific actions will you take next year that you didn't take this year?
Will you commit to rock-solid plans and follow through? How much more
resourceful will you be?
Identify the nonproductive habits you engaged in 2004. Think about what they cost you in terms of your health, finances, relationships and career. How will next year be different? Consider engaging in proactive and reflective "inner work." What kind of person will you have to become to happily and consistently achieve all year long? Take the time to brainstorm and write down everything that comes to mind. Make a commitment to be different. Make an uncompromising decision to be, have and do differently in 2005 and you'll automatically position yourself for monumental success.

Pick A Card; Not Just Any Card
Here's a great inspirational strategy. Create your own,
personalized inspirational cards that you can easily carry in your
wallet, purse or bag. Write down your favorite and most empowering
scriptures, quotes, stories, heroes, movie titles and "reasons for
succeeding." Use index cards, or whatever works best for you (I use the
back of my own "spare" business cards). Whenever you catch
yourself feeling broke, busted or disgusted; overwhelmed, cheated or
defeated ... pick a card that promises to renew your mind; rejuvenate
your body and redirect your focus.
Humor for the Holidays
A man had been depressed and despondent for decades. All his dreams and
all his goals had simply eluded him during this entire time. Recently,
he decided that, with this being the Holiday season and all, he
would ask God for what he wanted. The first thing he asked for was the
career of his dreams. And, POOF! Just like that, he was the Regional
Sales Coordinator for the world's largest insurance companies, ACME
Life. Next, while standing in his driveway, he asked that his favorite
sports car replace his 1972 "hoofty." And, POOF! Just like
that, the 2007, blue-silver on silver, 9.0 Horse Power, 12 valve Nissan
350 "concept car" (the same one he saw on television the night
before), suddenly appeared in his driveway. Then he decided to get
real bold. Having a bit of a dry spell in the dating department (just
one date in the last nine years), he asked to become "irresistible to
women."
And, POOF! Just like that, he turned into a box of
chocolates.
Life is So Much More Fun When
You Have Something to Look Forward To
What happens when you tell a child that he's going to
Disneyland? His entire face lights up and he literally, runs and jumps
for joy. The moment a child (let's call this one, "Michael") has
something meaningful and exciting to look forward to, he becomes
jazzed! And, Michael will remain jazzed long after he returns home from
Disneyland. Life - as he knows it - will never be the same. It doesn't
even matter that it's September and the trip isn't scheduled until
"spring break." Why? Because the seed has been planted and there's
now something very special to look forward
to.
Michael was able to enthusiastically create a
magnificent vision of his 3-day, amusement park experience in about 3
seconds flat. Amazing! Unbeknownst to him, the enthusiasm and
